It’s me. Hi. Pete
I’m a filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California.
(5 Minutes away from the Walsh House.)
Originally I lived minutes away from Giants Stadium in New Jersey. I grew up in the 90’s, watching 90210, eating Taylor Ham, Egg & Cheese Sandwiches. The film that made me find a love of film was Sydney Pollack’s ‘Tootsie.’
My most recent film, ‘Her Name is Chef’ is streaming on Hulu. It was inspired by a first-hand experience I had eating dumplings at a local New Jersey female-owned restaurant. The owner was struggling to convince a plumber that she had the right to be asking the questions she was asking of him. The incident kept burning in me then I was inspired by an Oscar speech to make this film! I felt a universe calling to highlight the struggles of gender equality in a male dominated industry. I found
Chef’s Elizabeth Falkner, Caroline Schiff, Esther Choi, Hillary Sterling, Juliet Masters, Leia Gaccione and Fatima Ali stories to be so powerful that they truly made a difference in my life. Of course, Fatima Ali’s passing was unexpected and extremely sad. Though I only knew her briefly our conversations, her story and smile are something I truly cherish.
It’s been really awesome seeing ‘Her Name is Chef’ featured in People Magazine, Good Morning America, US Weekly, PopSugar, Bustle, The Ellen Show, and more. Padma Lakshmi called the film ‘a poignant, necessary film that highlights women in the culinary world.’ That melted my heart! I love Padma. It was as trending in the top 5 Documentaries on iTunes!
My first film was the 2017 documentary film ‘The Price of Fame.' In it, I got to meet so many of my pro wrestling heroes!
I focused on ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiasie’s struggles of fame and faith. The film was screened in 650 theaters for one night as a part of a Fathom Event, in addition, trended on Amazon and iTunes at #1 when it was released digitally. That was super cool.
At the top of the pandemic I started hosting the now popular Video/Podcast the ‘Beverly Hills, 90210 Show in which the original producers Charles Rosin and Larry Mollin and I dive deep weekly with cast & crew into the making of the beloved television show. ‘Beverly Hills, 90210 Show’ was listed #5 on the Today Show’s ‘Best Pop Culture Things of 2020’. We reunited the cast for a 30th-year anniversary show and I’ve interviewed pretty much everyone that has had anything to do with the series including my TV Crush, Kathleen Robertson (Clare Arnold). Hence the title above.
hmmm I’m also a Husband to Kristina whose really into the team Arsenal. I love The Rolling Stones, and am an avid NY Mets fan, a proud Dad to my twin Sheltie Dogs Bianca and Sugar. Bianca checks herself out In the mirror, and Sugar is our little guard dog.
Ultimately my goal is to make Dreamy, Dark, Compelling, Nostalgic & Funny films. (DDCNF!)
So that’s a little bit about me.
Now, please tell me about you.
Let’s make something together!
